Having performed countless weddings, we have seen our fair share of memorable wedding moments, and a recent New Year’s wedding certainly stands out as one of the best in recent memory.
Vicky Wilson had recently tied the knot to become the new Mrs Sivillis, marrying her boyfriend Gary at Crathorne Hall on New Year’s Eve. As the only recommended DJ for this venue, we were lucky enough to be performing the wedding DJ duties for the couple’s special day, and it turned out to be a truly amazing reception, thanks in no part to Gary and his groomsmen.
The groom and his friends had secretly been planning a hilarious dance routine over the past three months, using a melody of songs to dance along to, with plans to reveal it during the wedding festivities. They had a little help with a family friend and dancer who helped them devise the funny moves routine but other than that, the boys had done all of the hard work themselves and boy did it pay off!
Vicky received the surprise of her life at the reception, as Gary and the groomsmen started what turned out to be a ten-minute dance routine featuring seven catchy pop tracks that began with a classic from Britney Spears (You Drive Me Crazy) and ended with One Direction (What Makes You Beautiful).
The fantastic routine also happened to be caught on camera, which has since been uploaded online for everyone to enjoy. And that they have, as the video has become very popular –even making headlines at a few local news publications!

Being a part of so many wedding celebrations is always a great pleasure for us here at Ultimate Wedding DJ, but when something extra special like this occurs, it truly makes us appreciate our job! There is nothing quite like a wedding in the North East, as evidenced by Gary and his groomsmen’s fantastic dance skills!
Gary has since revealed that he had to come up with an excuse to get out of the house on Mondays for three months leading up to the wedding in the hopes of keeping it a big secret not to be revealed until the big day. As he was practicing down the road at his mate’s house, he told Vicky that they were ‘building’ something special for the wedding – we imagine she never thought it would be an awesome dance routine!
The wedding between Vicky and Gary was held at Cathrone Hall on 31st December and followed a Wizard of Oz theme.
